Purpose

ICIS News
  • promotes intercultural understanding in particular environments such as education and business
  • supports research in intercultural communication
  • recommends specific methodologies for teaching intercultural communication
  • promotes cross-cultural classes/courses in curricula

Audience

ICIS News is written for members of the Intercultural Communications Interest Section, ESOL professionals working in the field, thought leaders in business and education, policy makers, and anyone who works to promote intercultural understanding.

Vision

ICIS News shall
  • promote the publication of articles on intercultural communication
  • publish articles related to the development of ESOL materials in intercultural communication
  • advocate in our publications for the adoption of coursework in intercultural communication as a required component of MA TESL/TEFL programs
  • promote the annual TESOL convention and IC participation in the conference
  • maintain an editorial team that attempts to present a variety of training approaches to IC in the field of ESOL
  • produce an attractive, timely newsletter twice a year
