TESOL International Association is committed to providing safe and welcoming environments for all who participate in its conferences, programs, and other events. TESOL prohibits and will not tolerate any form of harassment, bullying, or discrimination.
Our goal is to host programs and events that are as inclusive as possible for our attendees, regardless of language background, race, ethnicity, gender identity, religion and belief, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, culture, geographic
location, or professional status. Accordingly, we believe that it is important for TESOL to support the free expression and exchange of ideas in environments that are positive and productive for all.
Purpose
TESOL International Association has established this Attendee Code of Conduct (the “Code”) to serve as a guideline for the professional conduct of anyone attending or participating in a TESOL International Association sponsored program or
event and to inform attendees of the consequences for unacceptable behavior. This Code supplements and supports other policies of TESOL, including the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policy and its mission and values. The Code is intended to supplement,
but not replace, those policies that are applicable to all members. We expect all attendees at TESOL International Association events to follow the Code so that all participants can enjoy the program or event responsibly and with respect for the rights
of others. Failure to abide by the Code is subject to corrective action and sanctions, including refused admission, ejection, banishment, and other penalties consistent with this Code.
Scope and Applicability
The Code applies to all attendees, media representatives, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, staff, contractors, volunteers, organizers, and other guests (collectively referred to as “Participants”) at TESOL International Association programs,
conferences, events, meetings, social gatherings, and other activities held, sponsored, or affiliated with TESOL. Your attendance at any of these events will be deemed to be your agreement to abide by this Conference Code of Conduct.
