English language teaching (ELT) professionals from around the world are invited to participate in person in the TESOL 2022 Regional Conference in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, 13-16 June 2022!

The conference will bring together approximately 600 ELT professionals to share best practices and current research specifically relevant to ELT and English as an international language capacity building in contexts with inconsistent access to technology and English-speaking environments. Professionals should consider ELT innovations in the advancement of learner-centered, communicative English instruction; digital and multiliteracies; and ELT professionalism within a Central Asian context.

Topics of interest to be explored at the conference include:

  • Digital literacy innovations (high tech/low tech and cell phone solutions)

  • Online learning (for teaching and learning)

  • Interactive teaching and learner engagement

  • English as an international language, multilingualism, and translanguaging

  • Creativity in the classroom and curriculum and assessment innovations

  • Differentiated instruction and universal design

  • Authentic communication and multimodal language production

  • Reflective teaching and continuous professional development

Due to the current climate in the area of this conference, attendees are recommended to stay in one of the two selected hotels in Tashkent. TESOL has negotiated special rates at these hotels, and it’s only from these hotels that there will be a free shuttle to reach Inha University, where the conference will take place.

The conference is supported in partnership with the U.S. Embassy Tashkent and American Councils for International Education and in compliment to the English Speaking Nation Secondary Teacher Training Program.
