In December 2015, President Obama signed the
Every Student Succeeds Act into law, reauthorizing the Elementary and Secondary Education Act until 2020. As the chief piece of federal legislation funding K–12 education, this new law will bring about sweeping changes in classrooms across the country, especially those serving English learners.
